Girls on Film | Gabrielle

Throwback

Today I felt like sharing a little TBT shoot I did 3 years ago with my friend Gabby, a free spirited aventurer, storyteller and video producer. As I am writing these words in cold Montreal, she is exploring Arizona in a van, which is my next dream trip. California love. Can’t get over it.

I shot these pictures with my Pentaxk1000 and it was actually the first time I organized a shoot with a human, so bare with me.

It’s still stressful for me to photograph people, as it’s a totally different game than what I am used to do. Still, I push myself to do it , even if it’s uncomfortable to me. I like when things are natural, unstaged, so it feels kind of awkward for me to direct a person.

It’s good to push ourselves towards the unknown, to experience new things, to get out of our comfort zone. That’s how we grow.

The great thing about working with people is that it gives me the opportunity to connect in a different way with friends or strangers, who most of the time, are as nervous as I am. If you’re ever interested to be a model for the Girls on film series, I would love to try the experience with you.
